A short intro to folk-rock songwriters Larkham and Hall
Hey there! We are Sarah Larkham (@sarahlarkhamofficial) and Elliot Hall (@elhallmusic) our music is a blend of acoustic, rootsy elements and heady folk-rock passion - with a focus on lyrics and heart swelling melodies. We live on a boat in Bristol UK and when we're not teaching music there we're usually gigging around the country in our (old and beloved) campervan. We often play accompanied by Charlie Rose (violin and piano.) Our full band also features Jakey Graupner (mandolin) and Luke Clemenger (cello and bass) #americanamusic #bristolmusic #bristoluk #folkrock #lyricalsongs #passionatemelody #songwriter #campervanlife #houseboatlife

Finishing Line - El Hall
LYRICS: I'm an old man, or I'm getting there My fading looks and my thinning hair But for this old racehorse there's a finishing line You know your youth when you've had your time So let loose my hand and turn away These things that matter to you will be gone someday Cos heaven's a place and it's far from here I'm coming home Mum don't shed a tear There's a line on the horizon Coming into view There's a man by your side and he's losing his grip on you I'm so sorry for the end Lover, my best friend Don't wave no palm leaves I don't want no fuss Don't need no poetry just the two of us Cos to see your face was the greatest joy A girl could give this mannish boy But there's a line on the horizon Coming into view And the rooster at dawn Tells me that the waiting hour is through There's nothing you can lend Lover, my best friend So take my heart it's black as coal Let dark meet light in your gentle soul Cos I'm nearly awake when I'm at your side But love's a coward in the face of pride There's a line on the horizon Coming into view I want you to know It was no reflection on you Each road has an end Lover, my best friend Filmed in and around the beautiful, vibrant, artistic and historical streets of Seville, España in January and February 2024. Finshing Line featuring Sarah Larkham vocals @sarahlarkhamofficial and Charile Rose on violin. Recorded at Bink Bink Studios Redland Bristol.

Mexico by Larkham and Hall feat Charlie Rose
Written by El Hall in 2023 'On a busy hot, day in Valladolid on the Yucatan peninsula, I walked past a couple who had met up for lunch. They were eating tortillas off the boot of an old car and something about it struck me as incredibly romantic. In my head Mexico was always more than just a country, it was that magical place that existed in dreams as much as reality' 'Love's a beautiful thing, or so I'm told It can set you alight or it can burn you cold and I saw it once in Valladolid they were dancing with the angels, though they kept it hid. You can cross the high seas to find who you are they were eating tortillas off the boot of a car and I saw in them something gold the kind of love that don't get old but they don't see it or wonder why things to do, we pass them by but you ain't seen magic, without the show 'till you've seen Mexico and I could've stopped to let them know, how perfect they were in the evening glow but I saw their light in Yucatan they say you can't take it with you but you can but they don't see it or wonder why things to do, we pass them by but you ain't seen magic, without the show 'till you've seen Mexico Listen to me close, feel each word in your heart, today is but a memory that's yet to start and as for regret, well just be brave or you'll carry it with you, you'll become it's slave but they don't see it or wonder why they made their peace with life, before they die but you ain't seen magic, without the show 'till you've seen Mexico

Larkham and Hall | Crazy Paving (official video)
CRAZY PAVING LYRICS There's a hole in this ship, and the water's coming in But you won't bail it, 'cos it's too hard living And you could plug it with your fingers, You could plug it by being kind But the mood you're in It's the last thing on your mind It's the last thing on your mind So we roll on the water, out on the dark ocean In the middle of the night Because you don't want to go home Ah you don't want to go home So let's go out tonight And watch the city lights But won't you hold my hand 'Cus I'm afraid of heights And you're just like crazy paving baby But I love the way you crack And when you're struggling And your scars are itching And you can't climb the stairs And you sleep on the floor I'll be there I'll open all the windows I'll let the moonlight shine in And I'll comb all the stars Through your tangled hair Through your tangled hair So let's go out tonight And watch the city lights But won't you hold my hand 'Cus I'm afraid of heights And you're just like crazy paving baby But I love the way you crack I'm your lily white girl And you are the captain Of this sinking ship With its holes and its stitching And the water might be boiling And the water might be cold But it's me and the captain To have and to hold To have and to hold So let's go out tonight And watch the city lights But won't you hold my hand 'Cus I'm afraid of heights And you're just like crazy paving baby But I love the way you crack Larkham and Hall are Elliot Hall and Sarah Larkham from Bristol visit *** http://www.larkhamandhall.co.uk *** Facebook *** http://www.facebook.com/larkhamandhallmusic *** or write to them at sarellmusic2016@gmail.com Sarah Larkham and Elliot Hall also run Mind Your Music music and mental health project. If Wishes Were Horses official music video - Larkham and Hall
Remember your first love? This is a song about the kind of love that affects you for your whole life, no matter what else happens along the way. Recorded live in a kitchen in Bristol UK thanks to Charlie Rose. Guitar - Elliot Hall @elhallmusic Piano - Charlie Rose Vocals, lyrics and music - Sarah Larkham @sarahlarkhamofficial LYRICS: We crept out of the rain Found a gateway into lover’s lane We turned the page and found ourselves in love No other living soul Could ever make me feel whole The way you did so effortlessly love If wishes were horses I would ride And I would pull you, I would pull you up behind You are my vital one You are my flame You keep me alive You keep my burning Through the black stars, the black stars Our chapter started young You with your coloured jacket on You kept me warm through winter’s nights and snow And I’ve never needed anyone since Like I needed you when I was a kid I owe you more than you could ever know If wishes were horses I would ride And I would never, I would never leave your side You are my sword and shield You are my needle You are my smoking gun You are my angel You make me vulnerable You make me strong Through all my dark days you were there In my prison cell, on my chair When I was thirsty, you were wine You rode your chariot through my mind My guiding star when I was blind When I was hungry When I was starving If wishes were horses I would ride And I would pull you up behind And I would never, ever, ever leave your side You are my wild wild love You are my heaven You’re my amphetamine You keep me blazing Through the black stars, the black stars, the black stars
